Emergency Medicine Trust Grade Job, West Midlands. An exciting opportunity has arisen within the West Midlands for experienced and motivated Emergency Medicine and Acute Medicine trained doctors to develop there clinical work within A&E, MAU and Critical Care.
The rural hospitals Emergency Medicine department treats around 38,000 new patients annually. Due to its rural location the Hospital also deals with a heavy trauma workload.
As a trust grade Doctor you will work a combined rota with duties rotating between Emergency Medicine, the Medical Assessment Unit (MAU) and the Critical Care Unit. Successful Doctors will work 9 Clinical Programme Activities (5.5 sessions EM, 2 in Acute Medicine and 1.5 in Critical Care) and 1 Supporting programmed activity.
As part of the role you will have a supernumerary post in Critical Care spending time with the Outreach Team on the ITU and HDU wards. You will receive support from an on Site Consultant and have good opportunities for teaching and professional development.
In this post your duties will include:
• Providing Emergency care to patients attending the Emergency Department
• Working under the direction of the Consultants in ED and Acute Medicine
• Attending Clinical Sessions working within the ED, directing the care of all patients, seeing new patients (both Major & Minor) and supervising junior doctors.
• Provide an active involvement in MAU, Ambulatory Area and Rapid Access Clinics
• Provide supervision, teaching and training of Junior Medical Staff and Medical Students to the Departments
• Participate in Clinical audits for EM, Acute Medicine and Critical Care
• Work a full shift pattern of Days, Evenings, Nights and Weekends
To be considered for this post you will possess current Full GMC registration/ or have the ability to obtain Full GMC Registration, have appropriate training and experience in Emergency Medicine and General Medicine
