Here at Mediplacements we like to celebrate the personal achievements of our locums and this month we have the pleasure of recognising Simon, a highly skilled Audiologist from South Africa.
After graduating, Simon jumped straight into his role here in the UK and over the last year he has become a great asset to his NHS team.
‘He is an excellent Audiologist and I would like to thank him for all his hard work and commitment, especially over the Christmas period’ says Lui, his consultant here at Mediplacements.
Get to know a little more about Simon…
Personal achievements within the role? I arrived in the UK in January 2016 and started this role soon therafter. I had to learn the UK management system and relative clinical protocols which were challenging. I have maintained this role since and it has allowing me to achieve good working experience within different areas of audiology.
What do you enjoy about being a locum? I enjoy the flexibility of seeing different areas, working between a range of hospitals and meeting new people.
Most memorable moment within your career? Providing hearing aids to people from underprivileged communities within South Africa and seeing their reaction to hearing again as they were not aware such a service/device existed.
