Mediplacements are currently recruiting a Band 6 Microbiology BMS

Position 1 x Microbiology BMS 

o Day to day working in Microbiology covering all routine bench work. Work includes using both automated (BioMérieux Vitek Compact 2, Bactalert 3D, Biofire Torch, Cepheid GeneXpert, Quidel Sofia 2) and manual techniques Including microscope work.

o Maintaining communications with other departments and Lead Biomedical Scientist for Microbiology.

o Stock maintenance

o Other duties consistent with those of a Specialist Biomedical Scientist

• Accommodation: NHS Western Isles offers residential accommodation at £25.00 for 14 days per night then £18.00 per night thereafter. The accommodation complex is a short five-minute walk outwith the Western Isles Hospital grounds. Single accommodation consists of individual bedrooms, within shared flats and houses.
