Mediplacements are looking for an experienced Lead Biomedical Scientist / Fractional CQC Registered Manager

• Location: Orpington, Kent / Greater London 

• Specialties: Blood Sciences (Biochemistry & Haematology)

• Grade / Band: NHS Band 7 or Band 8a equivalent

• £35- £38/hr umbrella company 

• HCPC Requirement: Active HCPC Registration (Mandatory)

• Working Pattern: Fractional / Part-Time/ 10hrs per month

• Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the named CQC Registered Manager for a newly established private pathology laboratory in Orpington.

• Oversee Quality Management System (QMS) policies, IQC, and EQA setups for automated biochemistry and haematology analyzers.

• Participate in the CQC registration process and fit-and-proper person interview.

• Provide governance sign-off and clinical oversight for routine blood science panels.

• Ideal Candidate Profile: An experienced Senior BMS, Pathology Quality Manager, or Laboratory Manager (current or recently retired NHS/Private sector) who has prior experience with CQC inspections, ISO 15189 standards, and laboratory governance
