About the Role

Our client in Ireland  is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and suitably qualified Staff Grade Medical Scientist to join the Microbiology Department on a temporary basis.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Medical Scientist with a strong background in microbiology to work as part of a dedicated laboratory team, supporting the delivery of high-quality diagnostic services within a busy acute hospital setting.

The appointment will initially be offered on a rolling 3-month contract, which will continue until the return of the substantive post holder from sick leave or until a permanent appointment is made.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must:

Hold qualifications eligible for registration as a Medical Scientist with CORU.

Have significant experience working within a Microbiology laboratory environment.

Demonstrate a high level of technical competency and attention to detail.

Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Be capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Conditions of Appointment

The successful candidate must satisfy the following requirements prior to taking up duty:

Be registered with CORU as a Medical Scientist.

Successfully complete all required mandatory training.

Successfully complete Garda Vetting procedures.
