Specialist Acute / Oncology & Head and Neck | Central London

Location: Central London

Hours: 3 days per week – flexible working days

Setting: Private Hospital – Inpatient & Outpatient

Mediplacements are currently recruiting for an experienced Speech & Language Therapist to join a specialist hospital service in central London, working across both inpatient and outpatient settings.

This is an excellent opportunity for an SLT with a strong acute, dysphagia, oncology or head and neck background to work within a highly specialist multidisciplinary environment.

The Role

The successful SLT will manage a varied and clinically interesting caseload, predominantly involving:

Inpatient oncology and head & neck patients, across both medical and surgical pathways.

ICU patients requiring specialist assessment and intervention.

Outpatient clinics and follow-up appointments.

Dysphagia and communication assessment and management.

Working closely with Dietetics and the Head & Neck Clinical Nurse Specialist as part of the wider MDT.

Attending the fortnightly Head & Neck MDT, contributing specialist SLT input to patient management.

Key Requirements

Essential:

HCPC registration.

Relevant Speech & Language Therapy experience within an acute hospital environment.

Strong dysphagia experience.

Experience working with complex adult caseloads.

Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable:

Experience working with oncology and/or head & neck patients.

Experience in ICU.

Competence in VFSS and/or FEES.

Previous experience within a specialist hospital setting.
