We are currently seeking an experienced Band 7 Clinical Pharmacist to join the Respiratory Directorate on a locum basis.
The successful pharmacist will lead the provision and development of clinical pharmacy services within Respiratory Medicine, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to optimise medicines management and improve patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Provide specialist pharmaceutical advice to the Respiratory Directorate, ensuring the safe, effective and cost-effective use of medicines.
Develop and deliver high-quality Clinical Pharmacy Services within Respiratory Medicine.
Work closely with consultants, doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals as part of the multidisciplinary team.
Optimise individual patient treatment through effective medicines reconciliation, review and monitoring.
Support the safe and appropriate prescribing and use of medicines in line with local and national guidance.
Undertake risk management activities and ensure compliance with relevant medicines legislation, policies and procedures.
Identify and deliver financial savings and efficiencies within Respiratory Medicine.
Contribute to the development and implementation of pharmacy policies, procedures and clinical guidelines.
Deliver education and training to healthcare professionals, pharmacy staff and other relevant colleagues.
Support the ongoing development and improvement of pharmacy services within the directorate.
Essential Requirements
GPhC registration as a Pharmacist.
Previous NHS hospital pharmacy experience.
Strong clinical pharmacy experience, ideally within Respiratory Medicine.
Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent knowledge of medicines optimisation, governance and safe medicines management.
Ability to work independently and manage clinical priorities effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Previous Band 7 or equivalent clinical pharmacy experience.
Specialist respiratory pharmacy experience.
Experience delivering pharmacy-related education and training.
Experience identifying and implementing medicines-related cost savings.
