Mediplacements are looking for an experienced band 6 Biomedical Scientist in Blood Sciences and Blood Transfusion 

• Start Date: ASAP

• Hours: Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:30, some weekend cover Saturday 08:30-12:30, Sunday 09:00-12:30.

• Contract Length: This would be a medium length contract for 3 months/possible for extension  

• Base Location: Outer Hebrides, North West coast of Scotland 

• Position Information: Biomedical Scientist in Blood Sciences/Blood Transfusion

• Day to day working in Blood Sciences covering all routine bench work. Work includes using both automated (Roche Cobas 6000, Beckman DxH 800, Sysmex CA 660) and manual techniques including blood films.

• Maintaining communications with other departments and Lead Biomedical Scientist for Blood Sciences and Blood Transfusion.

• Stock maintenance

• Other duties consistent with those of a Specialist Biomedical Scientist 

• Accommodation: residential accommodation at £25.00 for 14 days per night then £18.00 per night thereafter. The accommodation complex is a short five-minute walk from Hospital grounds. Single accommodation consists of individual bedrooms, within shared flats and houses.  

• Location: The town Centre is a mile from the residential accommodation where all essential amenities can be found.  

• Pay rate: £27/hr PAYE Direct engagement 

• Travel: We will pay for a one return journey/flight if the Locum stays in the position for more than 2 months.
