Band 6/7 Adult Neuro Speech & Language Therapist Locum

Location: Brecon & South Wales

Contract: Initial 3 months (likely to extend until the New Year)

Start Date: Mid-September

Hours: 3+ days per week

Pay: Competitive hourly rate (DOE)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Adult Neuro Speech & Language Therapist to join a community-based service in South Wales. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a varied adult neurological caseload while enjoying the flexibility of a locum contract.

The Role

You will manage a general adult neuro caseload, working with patients presenting with:

Stroke

Dementia

Progressive neurological disorders

Dysphagia

The successful candidate will work independently, delivering high-quality assessment and intervention across community settings.

Key Responsibilities

Assess and manage adults with acquired neurological conditions.

Independently assess and treat patients with dysphagia.

Deliver person-centred therapy plans and interventions.

Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Support and supervise therapy assistants where required.

Essential Requirements

HCPC registered Speech & Language Therapist.

Experience managing an adult neurological caseload.

Competent and confident in independent dysphagia assessment and management.

Full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle.

Ability to work autonomously within the community.

Desirable

Previous experience supervising Therapy Assistants.

Community adult neuro experience.
