Band 5 Pharmacy Technician – Locum Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced Band 5 Pharmacy Technician to join a friendly NHS pharmacy team on a locum basis in Wales
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated pharmacy technician with experience working in ward-based clinical pharmacy services. The successful candidate will support multidisciplinary teams across a variety of inpatient settings, delivering high-quality medicines optimisation and patient care.
Requirements
- Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Previous NHS hospital pharmacy experience.
- Medicines Management Accreditation, with the ability to independently undertake medicines reconciliation and assess patients' own medications.
- Experience supporting patient discharges and supervising pharmacy support staff.
- Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Enhanced DBS for adults (or willingness to obtain one).
The Role
- Ward-based clinical pharmacy service with no routine dispensary commitment.
- Full-time, Monday to Friday.
- No weekend or on-call requirements.
- Work across a number of hospital sites, with travel expenses reimbursed in line with NHS policy.
- Experience using electronic prescribing and medicines administration (ePMA) systems is desirable, although full training can be provided.
