Locum Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist – Head & Neck

Full-Time | 37.5 Hours | Ongoing Locum | South East London

Are you an experienced Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist with a passion for Head & Neck rehabilitation?

We're recruiting for an exciting full-time locum opportunity within a specialist community service in South East London. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded multidisciplinary team supporting adults with complex communication and swallowing disorders.

The Role

You'll be responsible for delivering specialist assessment and treatment to adults requiring highly specialised Head & Neck rehabilitation, managing a varied caseload and working closely with the wider multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver specialist assessment and treatment for adults with Head & Neck conditions.

Manage patients following laryngectomy surgery.

Undertake Videofluoroscopy (VFSS) assessments.

Assess and manage complex dysphagia.

Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans.

Work collaboratively with consultants, nursing staff and the wider MDT.

Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to service development where appropriate.

Essential Requirements

HCPC Registered Speech and Language Therapist.

Previous Band 7 experience (or equivalent).

Significant experience within Head & Neck rehabilitation.

Experience managing laryngectomy patients.

Competent in Videofluoroscopy (VFSS).

Strong dysphagia assessment and management skills.

Excellent communication and organisational skills.

IT literacy including Microsoft Word and Excel.

37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm)

ASAP start through to September 2026

Competitive PAYE hourly rates.

Opportunity to work within an experienced specialist multidisciplinary team.

Ongoing contract with the potential for extension.
