Job Title: Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist – Head & Neck

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist to join a specialist multidisciplinary team providing assessment and rehabilitation for adults with head and neck conditions. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, evidence-based care, supporting patients with communication and swallowing disorders across inpatient and outpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess, diagnose, and manage adults with complex communication and dysphagia needs associated with head and neck conditions.

Develop and implement individualised treatment plans using current evidence-based practice.

Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated patient care.

Provide education and support to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with professional and organisational standards.

Participate in service development, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives where appropriate.

Supervise and support junior staff and students as required.

Essential Requirements:

HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist.

Significant post-registration experience at Band 7 level or equivalent.

Demonstrable experience managing adults with head and neck conditions, including dysphagia and communication impairments.

Competent in videofluoroscopy and/or FEES assessment (desirable if applicable).

Excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and multidisciplinary working skills.

Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider clinical team.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week
