Speech and Language Therapist

Part-time | 2–3 Days per Week | Fixed-Term (November 2025 – March 2026)

We are recruiting for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join a specialist education setting on a part-time, fixed-term basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within an innovative, multi-disciplinary team supporting children and young people with complex speech, language and communication needs (SLCN), alongside social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. You'll play a key role in improving outcomes for some of the most vulnerable learners through assessment, intervention, staff development and collaborative working.

The Role

Working as part of a dedicated multi-agency team, you will:

Assess and deliver targeted speech, language and communication interventions.

Develop and implement evidence-based programmes to improve student outcomes.

Support teaching staff through training and practical strategies for the classroom.

Contribute to safeguarding processes and multi-agency meetings.

Produce high-quality reports to support statutory assessments, including Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Work collaboratively with education professionals and external agencies to provide holistic support.

About You

We're looking for a qualified Speech and Language Therapist who:

Has experience supporting children and young people with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).

Has experience working with children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Understands how communication difficulties impact behaviour, learning and engagement.

Can produce detailed assessment reports and contribute to EHCPs.

Enjoys working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.

Is resilient, adaptable and passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable young people.

Desirable:

ELKLAN training or experience delivering communication-focused staff training.
