Job Title: Mortuary Technician - Surrey 

Band: Senior Level (Band 7 equivalent)

Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Mortuary Specialist to join a busy mortuary team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out post-mortem procedures and supporting the day-to-day operational duties within the mortuary.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct post-mortem examinations in accordance with clinical, legal, and regulatory standards
• Perform routine mortuary duties, including body reception, preparation, storage, and release
• Maintain accurate records and documentation
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, infection prevention, and mortuary governance procedures
• Support the wider pathology and bereavement teams where required

Requirements:

• Previous experience working in a mortuary environment
• Proven ability to carry out post-mortem procedures
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
