Locum Specialist Podiatrist (Diabetes) Opportunity – Bedfordshire
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Locum Podiatrist with a specialist interest in diabetic foot care to join a busy NHS service in Bedfordshire.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality podiatry care to patients with diabetes, helping to prevent complications and improve long-term foot health outcomes.
Role Overview:
- Temporary locum contract within an National Health Service Trust
- Full-time or part-time hours available
- Flexible weekday working pattern
- Ongoing contract with potential extension
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with diabetic foot conditions
- Management of high-risk foot clinics, including ulcer care and wound management
- Delivering preventative care and patient education to reduce the risk of complications
- Working closely with diabetes consultants, tissue viability teams, and community services
- Developing treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs
- Maintaining accurate clinical records in line with NHS standards
Essential Requirements:
- Current Health and Care Professions Council registration
- Degree/Diploma in Podiatry
- Proven experience in diabetic foot management and high-risk caseloads
- Strong wound care and ulcer management skills
- NHS experience preferred
- Excellent communication and multidisciplinary working skills
