Mediplacements are looking to recruit a band 6 Speech and Language Therapist for a locum position with our client in London.

The pay for this position is £23-£28 per hour, and we are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible for an ongoing duration.

Job Description:

• The post holder will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to provide a high-quality specialist speech and language therapy service to infants and children (predominantly under 5 years) who have a range of needs including neuro-disability and eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties. This post will sit within early years complex needs team (EYCN) and is based at the Child Development Centre, but will include home visits and visits to settings.
• In conjunction with families the post holder will assess, where possible within their first language, and diagnose children and young people with a range of speech, language and communication needs. He /she will contribute to the multi-professional assessment of children with complex disabilities including eating and drinking needs, autistic spectrum disorders and learning difficulties. He/she will plan and implement specialist programmes of support and intervention for these children as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
• The post holder will raise awareness of speech, language and communication development and dysphagia through training for parents, teachers, support staff and other multi-agency professionals across a wide cultural spectrum.
