Mediplacements are looking to recruit a band 7 Quality Assurance Pharmacist for a locum position with our client in London.
The pay for this position is £27-£32 per hour, and we are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible for an ongoing duration.
Successful candidates must hold an MPharm degree and be registered with the GPHC.
Scope of the role
To assist in the provision of Pharmacy Quality Assurance service
To provide QA support to all production areas including Parenteral Nutrition, Cytotoxics and the Centralised Intravenous Additive Service (CIVAS)
To support deviation and CAPAs close out
To improve quality reporting measures through periodic trend analysis
To monitor standards of GMP by undertaking regular internal audits
To act as QA Lead in one of the Units within Pharmacy Technical Services
Main duties and responsibilities
Quality Assurance
1. To undertake a range of project activities associated with medicine preparation, systems of work and quality improvements. This includes:
Product Stability evaluation - assess stability data of all drugs used in technical services, including new drugs and generics.
Risk assessments
Change Control submissions
Review and development of Standard Operating Procedures
Inputting into new product worksheets
Development of product specifications
Self Inspections
2. To provide senior QA input into the management of deviations and ensuring satisfactory corrective and preventative actions are taken. To undertake a regular QA review of deviations according to department procedures.
3. To track and establish trends for quality exceptions and undertake root-cause-analysis (RCA) for significant GMP non-compliances as part of the Quality Management System.
4. To release products purchased for unlicensed use by the Trust.
5. To contribute to systems of quality assurance and support new technical services projects across the department, ensuring that standards are maintained, including Good Manufacturing Practice.
6. To ensure there is sufficient QA cover to undertake all monitoring and release activities. To report any deficiencies to the QA Manager.
7. To coordinate the routine application of the Validation Master Plan for the technical services units. This includes the validation and testing of new equipment, computer hardware / software and processes within the Pharmacy and the Gene Therapy Laboratory
