Mediplacements are looking to recruit a Band 6 Therapy Radiographer for a locum assignment in Berkshire.
The pay for this position is £25 - £32 per hour, and we are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible for an ongoing duration.
Role Details:
* Elekta & Mosaiq essential
* Hold valid and up-to-date registration with the HCPC and comply with HCPC guidelines in relation to professional issues, continuing professional development and competence.
* Be competent in image verification to evaluate field placement and take any necessary action including re-planning if appropriate.
* Full time preferred (min 4 days will be considered)
* Assist the Band 7 Radiographers in delivering innovative Radiotherapy services for a variety of tumour sites across the Reading and Bracknell department locations.
* Ensure that services delivered by the Radiotherapy department meet the highest professional and technical standards, as per CHKS guidelines and Trust policies and procedures.
* Achieve and maintain own competencies and skills within an agreed timescale
* Lead a team of Radiographers in the absence of more senior staff
* Practice as an operator within Radiotherapy as defined by IR(ME)R.
* Participate in the training, supervision and assessment of students and learners on clinical placement at the Berkshire Cancer Centre.
* Be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service. This may include working 37.5 hours per week between the hours of 6.45am and 8pm, and weekend working if required.
* Manage a workload of patients undergoing radiotherapy ensuring the safe and competent use of radiation and the highest standard of patient care, ensuring all efficiency targets are met. To ensure the RTSM is made aware of any patients who breach activity targets
* Provide advice regarding management of a range of complex radiotherapy related situations.
* Demonstrate a working knowledge of Trust policies and procedures and adopt these accordingly.
* Maintain a flexible approach and carry out and develop the role according to professional or service needs.
* Degree in Therapeutic Radiography or diploma of college of Radiographers
As a HCPC registered radiographer, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the latest imaging technology and techniques, as well as the ability to work independently, manage a high workload and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
