Mediplacements are recruiting for a Band 6 Speech & Language Therapist who is looking to work in Scotland.

Band 6
Speech and Language Therapist
37.5 hours per week working 9am - 5pm (30 min lunch)
Mon to Fri
* Significant experience working with children and young people with speech, language and communication support needs. Main focus early language and communication.
* Main role will be to assess and provide interventions for children in early years through to early primary years including collaborative working with families and other professionals.
* Communication support needs will include additional support needs. Experience and confidence working with full range of AAC approaches (key word signing, low tech approaches, consideration for high tech assessment) required.
* Caseload will be predominately children who have been on waiting list (both new referrals and those already open who have been waiting or review or intervention).
* Familiarity with Scottish context desirable including principles and processes of GIRFEC and Additional Support Needs legislation.
* Car driver is essential with driver's licence suitable for manual cars, as travel to locations in Orkney may be required. If candidates do not have their own transport, there will be access to a pool car.
* Able to provide single accommodation (which will be shared with another locum)
