Mediplacements are currently looking to recruit an experienced Mental Health Pharmacist for a locum role in London.

The pay for this position is £21-£25 per hour, and we are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible for an ongoing duration.

Successful candidates must hold an MPharm degree, be GPHC registered.

JOB SUMMARY:
* To provide pharmaceutical services which includes, the issuing, dispensing and final checking of prescriptions.
* To provide pharmaceutical advice to patients and/or carers.
* Responsible for day to day supervision of junior staff when requested by the dispensary manager.
* To hold and maintain technician accuracy checking qualification.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Required to work independently without direct supervision from senior colleagues.
* To be a MMT
* To hold the Accredited Checking Pharmacy Scheme (ACPT) qualification and keep up to date with current training developments and maintaining the accreditation through re-validation at the required time if required
* Communicate with service users and other healthcare professionals, including counseling patients and carers on the use of their medication as required.
* Use ePMA
* Accurately transcribe prescription information onto the pharmacy stock control system then dispense the item following standard operating procedures
* Deputises for the Dispensary Manager where relevant.
* Assists the Dispensary Manager with induction, training and development of staff working within the section/department.
* Supports the Dispensary Manager in ensuring that Trust Policies and Procedures are adhered to.
* Participates in the timely, accurate and cost-effective dispensing of medication which may include high cost, non- formulary and unlicensed medicines.
* Manages unlicensed medicines use and documentation.
* Ensures Health & Safety, Good Manufacturing Practice and GPHC Regulations are followed.
* Handles problems on a day-to-day basis, only passing the most complex to the Dispensary Manager/ relevant pharmacy staff
* Prepares for appraisals as required and ensures appropriate records are kept
* Participates in departmental audits and project work as necessary.
* Works with Dispensary Manager and other pharmacy staff to maintain good communication and efficient working throughout the service.
* Participates in maintaining correct stock levels in the pharmacy and works closely with other pharmacy staff to ensure correct stock levels in the relevant area and that quality of the data is of a high standard.
* To assist the Dispensary Manager in implementing new initiatives affecting the service.
* Participates in the correct storage and handling of pharmaceuticals.
* Attends departmental meetings
* Prepares prescription pad orders from various health care professionals as per policy
* Makes judgments about fulfilling urgent orders
* Keep up to date with current training developments and ensure a written record of Continuing Personal Development (CPD) is completed.
* Any other duties as reasonably required by the Chief Pharmacist
