Mediplacements are recruiting for a Band 6 Speech & Language Therapist who is looking to work in the Essex region. Job Role: Speech and Language Therapist
Band: 6
Start Date: ASAP
Hours of Work: 35 Hrs per week
Our client based in Essex are seeking a Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist with experience of using a range of interventions and strategies to support complex communication needs of children with learning disabilities and profound and multiple learning disabilities.
Formal training or relevant experience of using Parent Child Interaction approaches, Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) methods (Switches, PECS, Eye Gaze, Makaton signing etc). and knowledge of Dysphagia assessment and treatment and Sensory Integration approach is desirable.
The post holder will work with children, predominantly aged between 6 months and 12 years, presenting with a range of physical and cognitive disabilities. The organisation seeks to maximise the outcomes of individual children by providing an individually designed, home based Programme of exercises, which parents and / or carers can practice during the week.
