Mediplacements are recruiting for a Paediatric Speech & Language Therapist who is looking to work in the London region.

Grade: Band 7
Hours per Week: 37.5

Job summary:

A car owner and driver is essential to this role.

*You will be responsible for the assessment and therapy for the children attending your allocated schools who have identified speech, language and communication needs including: language difficulties, speech difficulties, stammering, selective mutism, learning difficulties and ASD
*You will have the opportunity to work directly with the children in groups and individually with an LSA observing the sessions in order to carry out follow up work
*You will offer training, advice and support to school staff
*You will support parents and keep in regular touch with them via termly phone calls or meetings, as well as sending them copies of termly care plans and targets and any reports
*You will jointly set and review targets/ care plans with school staff /parents
*You will jointly plan how to use your time in schools with the SENCO each term; allowing you to be flexible, creative and effective
*You will contribute to audits etc in order to provide evidence that the service being provided is being effective

Necessary Skills/Experience:
4+ years post qualification of adult dysphagia and communication assessment and management
Experience of working in community (e.g. home visits, care homes)
Driver desirable (due to pool car availability
