Master Vendor agreement with Beds & Herts

Mediplacements are delighted to confirm the award of a major new contract as ‘Sole Supplier’ of temporary Health Science Services (HSS) staff to the NHS throughout Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.
The contract will operate under the terms of the current NHS PaSA National Framework Agreement for Temporary Allied Health Professionals, Health Science Services and Administration and Clerical Staff. The organisations affected within the SHA include:
* West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust
* East & North Hertfordshire NHS Trust
* Bedford Hospital NHS Trust
* Luton & Dunstable Hospital NHS Trust
* Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Trust
* Primary Care Trusts
Mediplacements will act as the Sole Supplier for all temporary HSS staff including among others, the following professions:
* Audiologists
* Biomedical Scientists
* Cardiology/Respiratory Technicians
* Dental & Oral Health Practitioners
* Mortuary Technicians
* Optometrists
* Pharmacists
* Pharmacy Technicians
* Phlebotomists
* Theatre Practitioners
John Streeton, Senior Buyer at Hertfordshire NHS Supply Management Confederation explains the background to the award:
“We reviewed HSS agency staffing earlier this year and it was agreed that best value could be achieved through the appointment of a Sole Supplier for temporary HSS staff. Following the award of the NHS Purchasing and Supply Agency’s (PaSA) Framework Agreement in April, four agencies were selected and asked to submit proposals. These were assessed on the basis of cost, service, qualitative issues, procedures, policies, financial and management information. As a result, this important contract was awarded to Mediplacements and they have committed to investing extensive marketing, resources and systems in support."

The agreement commenced on Monday 4th September 2006 and will run until 31st August 2009 with an option to extend for up to a further 12 months.
