Prime minister David Cameron has been accused of "shutting out" objectors to the proposed changes to the NHS system.
Leader of the opposition Ed Miliband has criticised Mr Cameron and said that he was ignoring the views of experts and those in UK medical jobs.
It comes after the prime minister called a summit to discuss the much-opposed Health and Social Care Bill but failed to invite main organisations such as the British Medical Association (BMA) and the Royal College of General Practitioners.
Whilst Downing Street would not disclose which groups have been invited, bosses at the BMA described the snub as "odd".
Phil Gray, chief executive of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), said: "It is extremely concerning that many of the key professional bodies and healthcare organisations, which will be expected to work with the changes that the bill will bring, have been excluded from what is clearly a crucial meeting."
Mr Cameron recently claimed that the changes to give more power to GPs were already helping the NHS with figures from the Department of Health showing a 0.5 per cent drop in hospital admissions.
