Junior NHS doctors feel undervalued

Junior doctors working in the NHS feel they are being undervalued by senior members of staff within the service.
A new survey found that whilst younger health professionals are an "untapped NHS resource" they feel their views are going unheard within the workplace. Out of the 3,766 doctors questioned an overwhelming 83 per cent said they were "not valued at all".
Most respondents (89 per cent) agreed that it was "extremely" important to feel part of a team and that doctors needed to be effective leaders.
It comes after the BBC reported that the government had managed to escape criticism from the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges after the organisation decided to withdraw a letter damning the planned reforms to the service.
The authors of the study said: "We have demonstrated that the junior doctor medical workforce has both the desire and the ability to start contributing to improvement in the NHS, but feels that the environment in which they work is not sufficiently receptive to their skills."
