Quarter of patients 'would not recommend local hospital'

Poor hygiene and a lack of cleanliness were among the reasons why only a quarter of patients would recommend their local hospital to others.
Some had complaints over those in hospital doctor jobs treating them like they were on a factory production line, according to the Dr Foster research firm.
It took into account responses from 8,864 patients on the NHS Choices website, with 58 per cent stating that they would advocate others using their local health service facilities.
The most recommended hospital was the Cheshire and Merseyside NHS Treatment Centre (private), which received positive reviews from 97 per cent, while the North Downs Hospital (private) was liked by 96 per cent.
Recently, the Good Hospital Guide picked out Sheffield's infirmaries as the best in the north of England, with Sheffield Central MP Paul Blomfield telling TheStar.co.uk that the facilities were a "great asset to the city with tremendous staff working for them".
