Register as an Dietitian

Men should be more included in research into binge eating, a new study has suggested.
Binge eating affects both men and women, but men are largely underrepresented in research, according to findings published in the International Journal of Eating Disorders.
According to the research, the medical impact of binge eating is just as damaging to men as it is to women, but the number of men seeking treatment is far lower than the estimated number that have the condition.
Lead author Dr Ruth R Striegel, of Wesleyan University, said: "Binge eating is closely linked to obesity and excessive weight gain as well as the onset of hypertension, diabetes and psychiatric disorders such as depression."
This follows a study published in the Journal of Public Policy and Marketing which found that collectible toys could encourage children to eat more healthily - ingraining good nutritional values in them from the outset.
