Andrew Lansley invites health app ideas

Health secretary Andrew Lansley has called for new ideas for health apps to help patients make decisions about their care.
Patients, doctors, nurses and other health professionals are invited to submit new ideas for health apps, as well as app developers.
In addition, Mr Lansley has invited people to come forward to name their favourite existing health applications.
One example of a leading app currently used by patients is Choosing Well, which allows people to search for their nearest NHS health services.
"This is a unique opportunity for the NHS and those who develop apps to not only showcase their work but bring to life new ideas and realise true innovation in healthcare," he said.
In other news, an iPhone app developed by the University of Warwick is to be used by medical students to learn anatomy.
Peter Abrahams, professor of clinical anatomy, has broken down his teaching into small chunks which can be accessed by any medical student anywhere.
