Viagra to treat MS?

Viagra could be used to reduce the symptoms of multiple sclerosis (MS), new findings have indicated.
The sexual dysfunction drug was seen to dramatically lessen the symptoms of MS in animal models with the condition, according to research published in journal Acta Neuropathologica.
Fifty per cent of the models made an almost complete recovery after being treated with Viagra for eight days.
The medication was seen to reduce the infiltration of inflammatory cells in the white matter of the spinal cord, lessening damage to the nerve cell's axon and allowing for myelin repair.
Human trials could not be far off, as Viagra has been used in the past to treat MS patients for sexual dysfunction.
In other news, a new orally ingested medication for MS has been found to delay the condition and cut the rate of relapse.
Laquinimod was also found to be safe and well tolerated by MS patients.
