NHS staff feel they make a difference, poll shows

Nine out of ten NHS staff feel they make a difference to patients, according to results of the Care Quality Commission's (CQC) survey, with 87 per cent satisfied with the quality of care they gave.
The survey also found that 64 per cent of staff said they would be satisfied with the standard of care in their trust if someone close to them required treating, compared to 62 per cent in 2009.
Additionally, over half of respondents claimed they would recommend their trust as a place to work.
CQC chief executive Cynthia Bower said: "The survey results will help trusts to pinpoint what else [NHS employees] can do to support and develop staff to ensure they can provide the best care for patients."
This comes after the government announced it is to introduce changes to the NHS in order to deal with the predicted increase of older people with long term illness.
