A new iPhone app developed by the University of Warwick is to provide anatomy classes to medical students on the go.
Peter Abrahams, professor of clinical anatomy at the institute, has broken down his teaching into bite-sized anatomy classes which can be accessed by any medical student anywhere.
Aspects of Anatomy encompasses 38 short teaching videos and students can check their progress by taking quick spot check tests.
"We're using the technology students have in their pockets to share the teaching expertise from Warwick Medical School. Students from across the world now have the chance to virtually join my classes at a time and place which suits them," said professor Abrahams.
Meanwhile, the Department of Health has launched a new online tool to show the variation in mortality rates and risk factors in different parts of the UK. It is hoped the tool will help the NHS to improve treatment of cardiovascular disease in problem areas.
