Painkillers linked to erectile dysfunction

Men who regularly take painkillers could be at a higher risk for erectile dysfunction (ED), a study has indicated.
Research published in the Journal of Urology found that middle-aged men who regularly took non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) were at a higher chance of suffering from ED than those who did not take the drugs as frequently, or at all.
After factors such as the effects of age and smoking were taken into account, men who took NSAIDs regularly were more likely to report ED.
Senior researcher Steven J Jacobsen, told WebMD: "The association we saw may not have been causal, but we need to check it out because NSAIDs are so widely used to prevent and treat so many conditions."
Meanwhile, research published in the Journal of General Internal Medicine, concluded that doctors must ensure they pay attention to patients taking medication they could become addicted to.
