Half a million dementia cases 'undiagnosed by 2021'

Over half a million people will have dementia that has not been diagnosed by 2021, according to new projections.
The Alzheimer's Society released the figures ahead of a new campaign with Tesco that will see the organisations aim to increase diagnosis levels from 40 per cent by 2014 and raise £5 million to improve the futures of dementia sufferers.
Jeremy Hughes, chief executive, Alzheimer's Society says: "It's really concerning that six out of ten people with dementia don't have a diagnosis and so can't access the support they badly need. The money raised through the Tesco partnership will help us ensure people with dementia don't face it alone."
In other Alzheimer's news, a nasal spray could be used to vaccinate people against Alzheimer's disease.
Scientists from the Tel Aviv University are in the process of developing a vaccine designed to round up "troops" from the immune system to repair the vascular damage believed to cause the condition.
