Refer an Audiologist

Physiotherapists should inform patients of the long-term effects of their condition and how they can manage it, one expert has said.
Dr Nicola Walsh of the University of the West of England, Bristol, said that the concept of those in physiotherapy jobs no longer educate patients on long-term condition management due to the demands of undergraduate programmes.
"I think we've now realised the importance of these as key/core skills of the physiotherapy profession, particularly given the massive public health problems we face associated with inactivity and an ageing population," she added.
This comes after Dr Walsh was awarded the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy's largest ever research grant to conduct research into clinical and cost-effectiveness of prescribing exercise.
She said that exercise and self-management are recommended for older people with joint pain and functional difficulties, although the benefits of classes for those with chronic knee, hip and lower back pain have not yet been established.
