Cosmetic surgery 'only option' for some

Despite the advancement of technology for non-surgical cosmetic treatments, sometimes surgery is the only solution, one expert has said.
Stephen Handisides, managing director of MyFaceMyBody.com, used the example of someone who wants a fuller face. Dermal fillers are an option, he says, but the procedure would have to be done every six or nine months.
"Particularly for older people with their heavy jowls, a lot of the time surgery is the only option," he says.
In addition, he continues: "If someone has got very heavy watery bags under their eyes, a lot of the non-surgical types of treatment can't really solve these problems so they have to take the surgery route."
Meanwhile, research from Superdrug found that one in three women over the age of forty believes they need plastic surgery.
In addition, one in five said they would willingly undergo cosmetic surgery if they could afford it.
