Doctors time wasted due to 'compensation culture'

Nine out of ten doctors claim they have been lied to by a patient looking to claim compensation, new findings have revealed.
Research by LV= found that six in ten doctors reported a rise in patients exaggerating injuries in an attempt to claim compensation over the past two years.
In addition, 79 per cent of doctors claim to have seen someone who they thought to be fine and completely inventing their alleged injury.
Thirty nine per cent of doctors also said they have refused to write a letter or sign a form in relation to a personal injury claim.
Dealing with personal injury claims costs the NHS £8 million a year, says LV=, due to the need for claimants to have their grievance backed up by a doctor.
Meanwhile, people are at a higher risk of injury due to the snow and ice covering the UK, with Welsh health minister Edwina Hart warning people to stay inside to avoid accidents.
