Andrew Lansley unveils Public Health England

The health secretary has unveiled a radical new plan to tackle causes of premature death and illness in England.
Andrew Lansley today (November, 30th) revealed Public Health England, a service designed to localise health services while keeping nationwide control of emergencies such as flu pandemics.
This move will affect those in pharmacy jobs as local health authorities get more spending power.
The White Paper, Healthy Lives, Healthy People, claims that funding from the overall NHS budget will be specifically designated for public health with an emphasis on prevention.
It means that the central government will not control the whole health budget and will be unable to retract the money dedicated to public health to cover deficits.
Mr Lansley said: "Directors of Public Health will be able to champion local cooperation so that health issues are considered alongside housing, transport, and education."
This comes after an investigation by the Mirror showed that the NHS is overstretched, with hospital wards being closed under the pressure of the austerity cuts.
