Cloud computing introduced to hospitals

The first hospital management service run using cloud computing has been launched by Meddservice.
Medsystem Online can control patient appointments, bed admissions, telemedicine, referrals to specialists and shift patterns in addition to patients' results of procedures such as X-rays, scans, ultrasound and blood tests.
This cloud computing service aims to improve hospital doctor jobs worldwide as the nature of cloud computing means that institutions from the poorest countries can make use of the service.
The company claims the new service "surpasses the old concept of a hospital information system" and "supports the doctor in the clinic and is relevant for patient decisions".
Cloud computing works remotely, managing data and processing using the internet. This software-as-a-service model will allow hospitals to utilise this facility on a pay-per-use basis.
This comes after the Recruitment and Employment Confederation hit back at criticism of the use of locum staff, saying that they prevent NHS doctors from becoming overworked.
