Award winner 'an inspiration to hospital pharmacists'

The pioneering genetics research of a north-east hospital pharmacist has earned her national recognition, which could offer inspiration to those seeking pharmacy jobs in the region.
According to the Northern Echo, the work by Sunderland University pharmacy graduate Hannah Beba could help with the development of new treatments for cancer and Parkinson's disease.
In recognition of innovative gene therapy research conducted by the 28-year-old scientist, the College of Mental Health Pharmacists has awarded her this year's Undergraduate Pharmacy Bursary.
Ms Beba, who currently holds a pharmacy job at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead, told the newspaper: "I am honoured this research has received recognition for the university."
Meanwhile, robot-assisted drug dispensaries are thought to have improved safety and saved money at a new hospital in Scotland.
Last week, the BBC reported on the Forth Valley Royal Hospital pharmacists, who are working alongside machines to deliver a faster and more accurate service, while saving the NHS £700,000 a year in bills for medicine.
