Millions of people seek advice from those in hospital doctor jobs

There are millions of people in Britain who seek advice from professionals working in hospital doctor jobs for minor health symptoms, according to an industry expert.
Dr Knut Schroeder, general practitioner and author of the book Diagnosing Your Health Symptoms for Dummies, said that research shows that over five million people each year see a GP for dealing with a runny nose.
"[There are] about 57 million consultations each year in general practices for minor ailments which people could look after themselves if they had the resources, the knowledge and the information about them," he stated.
Dr Schroeder went on to say that he understood why people worried about symptoms, stating that the internet can often put fear into them if they search for their condition online.
His book comes as research published in the journal Occupational and Environmental Medicine showed that more than ten per cent of sick leave and higher productivity loss at work might be attributed to lifestyle behaviours.
