Occupational therapy jobs could cut cost of mental health

Those looking for occupational therapy jobs in the UK have been told that the annual cost of mental ill health in this country has reached £105.2 billion.
New research showed that the economy loses more than £30 billion each year from sickness, absence and unemployment linked to psychological illness.
Bob Grove, joint chief executive of Centre for Mental Health, said: "Mental ill health carries a heavy cost, especially for those who experience mental health problems and their families. It costs businesses more than £1,000 for every person they employ and has an impact on spending in every government department."
He told those looking for occupational therapy jobs that every day, one in six people experiences mental ill health, while one in 100 has a severe psychological illness.
Recently, the Bath Chronicle reported that CircleBath hospital could create new jobs in this position after starting to treat its first NHS patients.
