NHS employees rated highly by Scottish patients

New research has revealed that hospital inpatients rate NHS staff highly, with cleanliness, privacy and waiting times also garnering praise in a Scottish poll of more than 30,000 people.
The Scottish Inpatient Experience 2010 Survey is the first time that patients receiving care from any of the country's 14 NHS health boards have been offered the chance to give feedback on their hospital experience.
Overall, 87 per cent of inpatients described the level of professionalism and care demonstrated by health service employees as 'excellent' or 'good'.
Similarly, the amount of time spent waiting to be admitted to hospital after being referred was also viewed favourably by almost nine in ten respondents.
Earlier this month, health professionals seeking employment in London may have been interested to learn that Chase Farm Hospital in Enfield was nominated for a top award.
Chief executive of the local NHS trust told the Hertfordshire Mercury that it was "immensely proud" to be one of three nominees for the Most Improved Hospital honour at this year's Healthcare Excellence and Leadership (Heal) Awards.
