Physiotherapy job seekers reminded of need for professionalism

A physiotherapy job holder at a private hospital in Worcestershire has been placed under special conditions after reportedly swearing at his colleagues and putting patients at risk.
According to the Birmingham Mail, the Health Professions Council (HPC) ruled that Russell Willis, of Droitwich, was guilty of several misconduct charges and imposed conditions on his licence for three years.
During that time, Mr Willis will also be banned from managing any other physiotherapist job holder under the order, highlighting the need for constant professionalism in any line of medical work.
"Willis did not appear to appreciate the full extent of the inappropriateness of swearing and foul language. He did not appear to acknowledge the fundamental importance of the management component of his professional role," a HPC spokesperson told the news provider.
Meanwhile, Worcester News has reported that a number of health professionals with a speech therapy job in one of Worcestershire's five county hospitals will soon fall under the control of a newly-established health trust.
