Worcestershire speech therapy job holders to be managed by trust

Speech therapy job holders working in Worcestershire's community hospitals will soon fall under the control of a new organisation, following a landmark decision by health bosses, it has been reported.
According to Worcester News, it was decided that a new community and mental health partnership trust should be set up to run the county's five hospitals, after a meeting health at Malvern College last week.
Once established, the new trust is expected to run the majority of services, including occupational therapy, audiology and podiatry, with those in a speech therapy job also being affected.
"I know that most NHS Worcestershire staff, patients groups, people from Leagues of Friends and health professionals wanted a community health trust option," Harriett Baldwin, MP for West Worcestershire, told the news provider.
Meanwhile, the Academy of Medical Sciences warned last week that the government's public spending cuts could have a detrimental effect on the number of people able to find a speech therapy job in the UK.
