UK medical jobs survey shows GP satisfaction

A survey focused on certain UK medical jobs has revealed that over 94 per cent of patients trust and have confidence in their GP.
Research covering the period July 2009 to June 2010 undertaken by Ipsos-MORI for the Department of Health showed that contentment with such services "remains high".
Some 90 per cent of those asked said they are satisfied with the level of care provided by their doctor's surgery, while 88.8 per cent agree they are given enough time during an appointment to deal with their problem.
However, waiting times were found to provoke mixed reactions in the pool of respondents. A total of 65.5 per cent explained they do not experience much of a delay, but 21.5 per cent "wait a bit too long".
Moreover, 6.6 per cent of the patients involved with the research feel they wait "far too long" for a GP to see them.
Results of the survey come the same week that data on waiting times during July 2010 were published - statistics likely to help those in UK medical jobs.
The average time from referral to treatment for admitted patients was 8.3 weeks, compared to 4.3 weeks for non-admitted patients.
