Locum pharmacists to benefit from GSK podcast

A new podcast from GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Consumer Healthcare is set to help locum pharmacists by offering ten minutes of pain consultation advice.
Offered for free in conjunction with the Panadol brand, the mp3 file will be updated on a regular basis and will be made available to those working within the sector.
"The 10 Minute Pain podcast is delivered in a ready-to-use, listen-only/disposable mp3 player. It has been designed for use with the whole pharmacy team, as an efficient way of training staff - and additional headphone covers are provided," a representative from the company said.
GSK hopes that the short clips of advice will eventually make a big difference to healthcare by reinforcing important information through expert interviews, case studies and recommendations.
Meanwhile, the Fulham and Hammersmith Chronicle recently reported that free health checks for those aged between 40 and 74 are to be offered by locum pharmacists in six London-based locations as part of a new NHS scheme.
