Bolton MP calls for more physiotherapy services

An MP from Bolton West wants more community-based physiotherapy services to be available across the country.
Julie Hilling signed a parliamentary motion to that effect, the Bolton News reported.
She is calling for the government and NHS to work together to provide more comprehensive physiotherapy services, particularly to those who have suffered a stroke.
Ms Hilling is backing the Moving On campaign, which was launched by the Stroke Association and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
"I am pleased to give my backing to this campaign and it is vital that stroke survivors have the access to the physiotherapy services they need to assist their recovery," she told the newspaper.
According to the Stroke Association, one in five stroke survivors who need physiotherapy after leaving hospital do not receive it on the NHS.
However, half of those who reported having a "positive experience" of post-hospital physiotherapy stated that it had helped them "be less reliant on their carers".
Calls for better access to community-based physiotherapy could lead to the creation of more physiotherapy jobs around the UK.
