Royal Pharmaceutical Society calls for feedback from pharmacists

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB) has launched a survey about supervision regulations in the industry.
Anyone working in pharmacy jobs is being invited to get in touch with the organisation to put forward their views.
Under current regulations, a pharmacist will always be on hand in community pharmacies to provide professional advice.
Lindsey Gilpin, chair of the English Pharmacy Board, explained that the society has decided to launch the survey to pre-empt any consultation that the government may carry out in future.
"We will be answering the question about the future of supervision before the question is asked – shaping our own destiny and making sure we have a clear consensus," she stated.
The society has put together eight principles that it believes should guide supervision in pharmacies and it is calling for input about how these would be applied in practice.
Earlier this month, the RPSGB broadly welcomed the sentiment in the government's white paper that it wants to empower health professionals, however it stressed it will be pushing for pharmacists to have an input into any "service redesign".
