New pharmacy jobs may be created in York

A number of new pharmacy jobs may be created in York if plans being put forward by Haxby Group Practice get the green light.
The organisation wants to establish a late-night medication dispensary service, the York Press reports.
Haxby Town Council, which serves a population of around 8,750 in an area situated four miles north of the city centre, is currently considering the proposal.
If the new facility goes ahead, it will be open from 07:30 BST until 22:30 every day except Sundays, when it would operate between the hours of 09:00 and 19:00.
A total of four pharmacists would be needed to work in the centre, as well as a number of other members of staff.
The company has said it would recruit locally for the available positions, potentially boosting the employment prospects of people in the area.
