Audiologist helps woman hear again

An audiologist recently identified a woman's medical problem and helped her hear again.
Janet Clark was completely deaf in her left ear since birth and had received many treatments over the years in a bid to rectify the condition, thisisretford.co.uk reports.
One of her colleagues at work, Chris Salvin, then identified the source of the difficulties and managed to help her.
After being examined by the audiologist, she had a small microphone fitted in her right ear, which passes sounds it receives onto a Bluetooth device on her left.
Commenting on the help she received, Ms Clark said: "I have had complete hearing loss in my left ear for the past 49 years and until I met Chris I was resigned to the fact that my hearing would never be fully restored."
She added she is "so pleased" Mr Salvin managed to find a solution.
Meanwhile, the medical expert noted Ms Clark's problems are not uncommon.
Recently, fellow hearing specialist Ingeborg Hochmair toured the Yorkshire Cochlear Implant Service at Bradford Royal Infirmary.
